Future Speculations

In making any projections as to what the future may hold, we have to best guess the possible directions in which the things that surround us presently are most likely to evolve, with consideration to how mankind has developed things in the past.

In human history there have been a handful of universal ambitions that have been imagined and pursued, some of those familiar themes to us are Time Travel, the Font of Youth, Eternal Life and Invisibility.
Science is opening up some of these imaginings as actual possibilities now, for instance with Invisibility, stealth technology and metamaterial cloaking has already demonstrated the potential of making materials undetectable, and the mythical Font of Youth is continually and enthusiastically pursued with biomedical gerontology, and cosmetic surgery,

Eternal or Indefinite Life it seems will always be a goal for humankind, and we are more seriously examining this possibility presently.
Cryonics ( or low temperature preservation ) is already operative, and the study of various creatures such as planarian flatworms and hydra display what appears to be indefinite life, with the Turritopsis Nutricula jellyfish appearing to not only not grow old and die, but in fact reverts back to its juvenile form once it reproduces.

We are looking at active sciences here, not just theoretical ones, as we are already able to clone different species, and have even able to use dead cells from the extinct Rheobatrachus silus frog in the Lazarus Project, to briefly resurrect it as a species ( ref: tedxdeextinction.org ).

The Horizon Project

We can quite reasonably speculate that at some point in the future
humankind will be able to successfully use viable stored DNA to
clone/re-animate an individual, and that either by gene modification
and/or Mindware be able to transfer or germinate their original
consciousness within that body, and that we will also discover how to
inhibit the mechanics of ageing too, it may merely be a matter of when rather than if we can do it.

This could become an automated procedure in the future too, meaning that we will be able to resurrect many individuals at a time if we chose to, using purposely stored genetic material ie. from The Horizon Project Vault.
We can also logically speculate that this may be commissioned by the future relatives of an individual to fulfil their ancestors' wishes.

For those members that have expressed this wish, there will be a clear coding to affirm this set within their Time Cell, and The Horizon Project will increase this possibility as much as we can, by our particular location of the Vault and signalling this secure location to future generations, and to make it explicit and clear both within repository, and externally, the aims and wishes of this project and its members stored DNA within.

From the perspective of the individuals successfully re-animated, whether it be 100 or 1,000 or 10,000 years in the future, to them that passing of time may be irrelevant as far as their actual consciousness is concerned, as their awareness would only know that they are passing away one day in this era, and then being sentient again - in the future
